RETREAT INFORMATION

Where and when is the retreat?
The Gratitude Railroad Annual Investor Retreat will be held in the St. Regis Deer Valley in Park City, Utah from the evening of Sunday, September 24 to mid-day Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

Who is invited to attend the retreat?
The retreat is an invitation-only opportunity designed primarily for investors. The attendance ratio about 70% investors and 30% ecosystem partners, comprising of entrepreneurs, government & NGO representatives, academics and other thought leaders. From individuals less acquainted to those deeply immersed in impact, we’ve carefully curated a guest list to ensure the retreat is comprised of an investing group willing and able to build real engagement in conscious capitalism.

If I am not an investor, can I get involved or apply to attend?
Yes, in fact, one of the retreat’s core aims is to connect those deploying capital with ideas and companies that merit capital. A select number of tickets are reserved specifically for ecosystem partners. If you are an ecosystem partner who is interested in showcasing an innovative initiative, pitching a company or fund, or sponsoring the retreat, please contact the organizers.

AGENDA & PROGRAM

What is the agenda for the retreat?
The agenda mainly splits along two tracks: investment and breakout discussions. Sessions within these tracks include a range of formats from investment pitches and showcases, deep dives into topical issues, peer-directed idea sessions, talks by some of most prominent thought leaders, and more. The official agenda will be released prior to the retreat on this website.

Can I participate in the agenda?
Yes, we’ve worked hard to curate a high caliber guest list of individuals who have demonstrated excellence personally and professionally. As such, we’ve designed the agenda to be highly participative with ample attendee-driven content. Whether you would like to apply to lead a breakout discussion, networking lunch round-table, or yoga session, you’re active participation is encouraged! Please indicate your interest on your registration form.

When will I find out if I've been selected to lead a discussion?
All proposals will be reviewed by the Gratitude Railroad team, but not all proposals will be accepted due to fit and time constraints. If you have applied to lead a discussion, we will follow up with you individually with further details.

Will there be networking and free time to connect with other participants?
Yes, we’ve made sure to include plenty of activities and unstructured time for connecting with your co-participants. You are also encouraged to schedule one-on-one meetings with co-participants through the Community Platform, www.GRR2017.com/community.

Can I register for only 1 or 2 days of the retreat?
This event is held at a getaway destination particularly because we value the retreated nature of the convening. Rather than a drop-in conference format, GRR strives to generate a higher quality outcome through 2.5 back-back days of learning, collaboration and working sessions. Therefore we ask registrants to commit to the full retreat.

Should you have extenuating circumstances that prohibit you from staying for the full retreat, please talk with the organizers to see what kind of arrangements can be made to adjust your registration.

Is financial assistance available?
Yes, we understand that ecosystem partners, particularly entrepreneurs, are critical to achieving our mission but may need financial support to participate. In light of this, GRR has 2 pools of scholarship tickets that are available through application.

The first pool of scholarship tickets is reserved for ecosystem partners in need of partial assistance, equivalent to 30% off the Standard Room Registration. For the second pool of tickets GRR has partnered with like-minded foundations to provide a limited number of full scholarships. These are reserved primarily for entrepreneurs and select individuals of significant financial need.

When can I apply for financial assistance?
Please indicate when applying to attend if you’d like to be considered for one of these scholarships. We will follow up with you individually on your invitation and if we can offer a partial or full scholarship.

Can I contribute to the Scholarship Fund to help need-based ecosystem partners attend?
Yes, we love partnering with mission-aligned foundations. Please reach out to the organizers directly for a conversation.

Can I share a room to reduce my expense?
Yes, if you are a scholarship registrant, we’ll work to help you find a roommate of the same gender if requested. However, we cannot guarantee shared room.

Do I get a discount if I register early?
No, our ticket rates will stay consistent until registration closes. However, registration is capped at 200 guests, and early registration will guarantee your participation.  Once tickets are sold for both investors and ecosystem partners, registration will close.
